Ship Pilot Licenses Awarded to New Pilots in Gilan Ports

The ceremony for awarding ship pilot licenses to four new pilots was held in the presence of the Director General of Ports and Maritime Administration of Gilan Province. This initiative was carried out in line with enhancing maritime safety and strengthening the specialized human resources capacity of the ports.

According to the Public Relations Office of the Ports and Maritime Administration of Gilan Province, Mr. Hossein Younesi stated during the ceremony that ship pilotage is one of the most sensitive responsibilities in maritime and port operations.

He emphasized that granting pilot licenses is conducted only after completing comprehensive training programs, specialized examinations, and precise field evaluations.He further noted that ship pilots play a decisive role in maritime traffic management, ensuring safe berthing and unberthing of vessels, and improving the quality of port services. Employing skilled and well-trained personnel in this field remains one of the main priorities of Gilan ports.The Director General also highlighted that sustainable port development and safety cannot be achieved without efficient human capital. Empowering young professionals alongside benefiting from the experience of maritime veterans is continuously pursued.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, ship pilot licenses were officially awarded to four new pilots, and Captain Reza Farmandeh, a veteran maritime professional, was honored in recognition of his years of valuable service in the maritime sector.
